TURN YOUR HOME INTO A STAYCATION SANCTUARY

TURN YOUR HOME INTO A STAYCATION SANCTUARY

ree

Get you house ready for your staycation! One of the perks of taking a vacation is a change of scenery. So to do this on your own turf, here are a few tips:

-Evoke relaxation with a gorgeous smelling candle. When my family and I travel, we love to stay at Marriott’s. One of my favorite things about Marriott’s is their signature scent. To bring this aroma home, I use Hotel Collection’s Black Velvet candle.

-Get a staycation playlist ready and play it in the background while you relax about the house!

-Make your bed with luxurious sheets. Set aside your staycation sheets for that very occasion so you can have the best staycation sleep!

-Let your body know it’s relaxation time by wearing a super soft robe or slippers around the house.

-Make a list of staycation books you want to read. When it’s time for staycation, set your books out on your nightstand or coffee table or have your books ready to read in your queue.

-Unplug! Turn your phone on silent or do not disturb mode. Leave the TV off and go relax outside. Listen to the trees sway in the warm breeze.

-Place snacks and drinks out like you would see in a hotel.

-If you’re having dinner at your house, use the fancy dishes and sit in the dining room if you have one.

PLAN A SPA DAY

ree

-Set up an appointment at your local spa and splurge on yourself! Find out about all the services your spa has to offer and inquire about package deals.

-Don’t want to splurge at the spa? Have a spa day at home! Grab your favorite face mask from the store or place cucumbers over your eyes. Soak in an epsom salt bath or foot bath while sipping your favorite beverage. Paint your nails your favorite new color. Massage your scalp with a scalp massager. If you have a significant other, give each other massages.

GET OUTSIDE

ree

-Explore area trails and take a hike or bike! Be sure to pack a picnic, drinks to stay hydrated, and some sunscreen. If you’re in Tampa, check out Alafia River State Park, Flatwoods Park, or Lettuce Lake Park.

-Canoe, kayak, or paddle board a nearby body of water. As a Tampa resident, I love going down the Hillsborough River or through the Mangrove Canopies at Weedon Island.
